Design of Ship Power System Monitoring and Alarm Software Based on PLC and Touch Screen

With the continuous development of electrification and intelligence in ships, the importance of the ship power system in maritime safety has become increasingly prominent. To enhance the safety performance of the ship power system, this paper designs a monitoring and alarm software system for ship power systems based on PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) and touch screen technology. The software first collects data from the ship’s power system model using a LabVIEW communication program. It then facilitates data exchange between the PLC and LabVIEW through Modbus TCP/IP. The PLC is responsible for data processing, logical judgment, and control management, while the touch screen provides data display, sound and light alarms, and human-machine interaction features. Experimental verification has demonstrated that this design can quickly respond and make rational decisions in the event of a fault in the ship’s power system, effectively improving the safety and operational reliability of the ship.
