Development and Demonstration of a Dummy Cube Satellite as a Payload of a Small Hybrid Rocket

In our small rocket and satellite challenges, we achieved some missions while radio communication pauses were observed. We improved antennas in a demonstration system and implemented a diversity reception system to overcome the problems. Thus, we succeeded in development and demonstration of a dummy satellite as a payload on board a small hybrid rocket. The satellite carried a 920-MHz low-power unlicensed transceiver to transmit some important rocket data to two ground stations. We confirmed experimentally that this kind of low-power transmitters can function as rocket demonstration of up to 1-km altitude. In addition, the diversity system employing the two ground stations was successfully demonstrated, as was expected.
