Progress and prospect of research on fluid leakage model during plunger gas lift

In the process of liquid lifting of the plunger gas lift technology, there is a gap between the pipe and the plunger, which will inevitably cause liquid loss under the influence of speed, pressure and gas slippage. It is of great significance to master the law of leakage for improving the lifting efficiency. In order to systematically analyze the plunger gas-lift liquid leakage problem, which has been widely concerned in engineering field and academic field for a long time, the domestic and foreign plunger gas-lift liquid leakage models were investigated and analyzed in the past decade, the current specific models and research methods of plunger gas-lift liquid leakage were summarized, and the current research progress and shortcomings of plunger gas-lift liquid leakage models were analyzed. It is concluded that in the future, the research of liquid leakage model of plunger gas lift will focus on three directions: (1) Prediction of plunger gas lift fluid loss under multi-factor and complex well conditions; (2) Numerical simulation of fluid leakage in plunger gas lift under global, multi-scale connection, strong coupling real-time dynamic and strong nonlinear conditions; (3) Automatic, digital and intelligent indoor plunger gas lift simulation platform. These research directions will provide key technical support for the efficient production, green and sustainable development of natural gas. With the continuous progress and innovation of technology, plunger gas lift technology will play an increasingly important role in improving the production efficiency of gas wells and solving the problem of fluid accumulation.
