Design and Implementation of an Intelligent Solar-Powered Street Lighting System with IoT Integration for Enhanced Energy Efficiency and Adaptive Control

The project aims to create sustainable urban infrastructure by implementing a comprehensive system for highway street lighting using renewable energy sources, particularly solar panels. The system uses a NodeMCU microcontroller for real-time control, enabling remote monitoring and control. Solar panels are strategically used to charge a battery, ensuring efficient energy consumption and minimal impact on generation. The paper presents an IoT-based smart street light system using the ESP8266 microcontroller, LDR, and IR sensor. The system improves energy efficiency and adaptive control, reducing energy consumption and enabling automatic lighting management. The NodeMCU microcontroller, LDR, IR sensors, breadboard, LEDs, and wiring are integrated into a smart street lighting system. The Arduino IDE for programming ensures seamless integration and efficient management. The system eliminates limitations of traditional lighting systems, such as inefficiency and energy consumption, making it suitable for high-traffic areas.
