Construction Technology of Substation Metaverse Scene Based on Unreal Engine

The metaverse is not only a new concept in the digital space, but also becoming a new field for the integration of technology, culture, and society. This study first established the principles of scenario design, including authenticity, functionality, user interaction, security, scalability, multi-user support, environmental adaptability, and feedback and evaluation mechanisms. Next, the article introduced the application of Unreal Engine in the construction of substation metaverse scenes, including project initialization, geographic information system data import, 3D modeling, scene layout, lighting settings, interactive function development, and testing optimization. Experiments have shown that the scene construction time under Unreal Engine is significantly lower than that of traditional technology, with an average user interaction delay of only 297.5ms, far lower than the 661.8ms of traditional technology. CPU usage also remains at a low level, with the highest being only 30%. These results indicate that Unreal Engine not only provides high-quality virtual experiences, but also ensures high performance and efficiency.
