Cooking Gas Monitoring and Alert System

Liquid Petroleum Gas (LPG) is widely used in households and the food and beverage industry as an efficient and cost-effective fuel. However, users often struggle to monitor the remaining gas in cylinders, leading to unnecessary expenses from purchasing backup cylinders. Additionally, there is a growing concern about fire hazards due to gas leaks. Therefore, developing an IoT-based LPG monitoring and smart alarm system to monitor the remaining gas in the cylinder and notify users when there is gas leakage is essential. The integration of the MQ-6 gas sensor, load cell, HX711, and NodeMCU enables real-time data on the gas level and gas leakage to be sent wirelessly to the mobile application using Wi-Fi technology. Using the pre-installed mobile application, users are able receive real-time updates on the gas level and notification when the gas leakage is detected. The system effectively improves household safety by providing timely notifications and reducing the need for backup cylinders, thus preventing unnecessary expenses. This study facilitates the development of a practical solution that improves household safety and user convenience, concerning both economic and safety aspects.
