Failure analysis and preventive maintenance of high-power flexible clutch systems

Clutches are essential components in automobiles and other power transmission systems. Flexible clutch systems, known for their superior qualities such as shock resistance, vibration resistance, and reliable operation under weightless conditions, are extensively utilized in various industries, including machinery, maritime, and oil extraction. This paper examines the component composition and working principles of each sub-system within the flexible clutch system. By analyzing fault information for the overall system and employing the fault tree analysis method, we identify the basic events leading to the failure of each sub-system and construct a fault tree model for the flexible clutch system. To address failures within the flexible clutch system, we develop a maintenance cost model based on component categories. By comparing the importance of preventive maintenance costs, we determine the optimal order for preventive maintenance of each system component. Finally, two strategies are employed to simulate the degree of importance, demonstrating the high flexibility of this measure.
