Design of anti-freezing device using for oil storage tanks breathing valves system

The breathing valve and the flame arrester are crucial safety components of oil storage tanks. In regions where winter temperatures plummet, these devices can freeze, posing a risk to the safety of the tanks. To prevent the freezing blockage, a kind of device is designed, which is consisted of a cylinder body, a copper tube heat exchange component, a spoiler plate, a helical spoiler structure, and an airflow inlets and outlets. By leveraging heat exchanger principles, the design facilitates heat transfer between internal worm oil gas and external cold air. Therefore, excessive water vapor in the oil and gas may be pre-liquefied and refluxed to the oil storage tank before it reaches the flame arrester, avoiding freezing and blockage of the flame arrester and breathing valve. Fluent simulation was also carried out, and the results showed that the average temperature of the oil and gas at the outlet of the device could be reduced to −6.15 ℃, which is beneficial for solving the freezing and blockage of the breathing valve.
