A new part-oriented test equipment for evaluating the mechanical characteristics of copper alloy spring materials

Copper alloy spring materials are widely used in electromechanical components for carrying mechanical load and current load. The mechanical characteristics of such materials are closely related to the reliability and serviceability of components used in harsh environment. In this paper, a new automated test equipment for evaluating the mechanical characteristics of real part within the component is developed. The stress relaxation test and mechanical fatigue test could be carried out individually. Furthermore, the effects of temperature and mechanical load on the degradation behavior was demonstrated, without the need for a whole component level testing.
