A diagnosis for the production line of scholar diary in Smart Medios

Critical areas have been identified in Smart Medios that affect the efficiency and quality of the final product of the agendas, which has motivated an exhaustive study to detect opportunities for improvement. The improvement proposal focuses on strategies to optimize production, reduce waiting times, improve quality control, and enhance operational efficiency, to increase competitiveness and meet market demands. The methodology included a detailed analysis of the current production processes through site visits, interviews with key personnel, and direct observation. A diary manufacturing process flow chart was developed to identify areas of opportunity. In addition, Value Stream Mapping (VSM) was applied to visualize and analyze the entire value stream of the production process, identifying activities, waiting times, inventories, and waste. These tools made it possible to detect opportunities for improvement and implement innovative and viable solutions to optimize quality, efficiency, and competitiveness in the market. It became evident that the company faced significant challenges in areas such as quality control, waiting times, and operational efficiency. Opportunities for improvement in equipment and personnel performance were identified, as well as the implementation of maintenance, order, and planning actions to improve the overall equipment efficiency (OEE) indicator. It was observed that quality reached 86.1% compliance, with most of the defects present in the process of completing the schedules. The need to establish product quality control processes and monitor operator performance to improve overall equipment efficiency was highlighted. These results underline the importance of implementing continuous improvement strategies to enhance the overall performance of the company and ensure its competitiveness in the market. We conclude with the importance of the organizational diagnosis, the identification of opportunity areas, and the implementation of a structured action plan. It highlights the need to intervene in areas such as quality control, equipment, and personnel performance, as well as the implementation of maintenance and planning actions to improve the competitiveness of the production plant. These conclusions emphasize the importance of implementing continuous improvement measures to optimize production, guarantee product quality, and strengthen the company's operational efficiency in a competitive business environment.
