Design and implementation of multi-sensor integrated intelligent alarm based on Arduino

In recent years, with the increasingly serious problem of environmental pollution, the demand for real-time monitoring and early warning systems in homes and industrial places has been increasing. The traditional single sensor alarm system has been difficult to meet the requirements of multiple pollutants detection at the same time, so this research proposes a multi-sensor integrated intelligent alarm system based on Arduino. This paper presents the design and implementation of a multi-sensor integrated smart alarm system based on Arduino. The system integrates temperature, humidity, carbon monoxide, and formaldehyde sensors, displaying real-time environmental data on an LCD screen. When the carbon monoxide or formaldehyde levels exceed safe thresholds, the system triggers an alarm through a buzzer. The system adopts a modular design to ensure flexibility and scalability in both hardware and software. The hardware components include the Arduino board, sensor modules, and display and alarm modules; the software part is realized through Arduino programming for data acquisition, processing, and display. This paper provides a detailed description of hardware selection, sensor data acquisition and processing, alarm logic design, and system integration and testing. Multiple experimental tests indicate that the alarm system exhibits good real-time performance and reliability, accurately monitoring and warning of harmful substances in the environment, thus providing safety assurance for both domestic and industrial settings. Additionally, the paper discusses the system's advantages, limitations, and potential improvements, offering insights for future research.
