Transformative Role of IoT and AI in Health Monitoring Systems: A Systematic Mapping Review

This systematic mapping review aims to analyze the impact of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and the Internet of Things (IoT) on health surveillance systems, both in hospitals and for remote patient monitoring. We conducted a comprehensive search across multiple databases, identifying a range of surveillance systems that utilize these technologies. This mapping highlights the key contributions of significant research works, categorizing them by type and application area. Furthermore, we discuss the challenges associated with data security and system integration, identifying critical gaps in the literature. The findings underscore the necessity for effective and secure implementations of AI and IoT in healthcare settings to enhance monitoring capabilities and optimize patient outcomes.
