Robust LED Driver Solution for Automotive Lighting Application

This paper introduces an innovative LED (Light Emitting Diodes) driver specifically engineered for automotive lighting applications, which faces a broad spectrum of operational conditions, including battery voltage variations from 6 V to 18 V and temperature ranges between -40°C to 150°C. One of the most pivotal design challenges in automotive lighting applications is the dual objective of maximizing light efficiency while simultaneously preventing light flicker especially during the battery variations. To achieve this, state-of-the-art smart design techniques have been incorporated into the LED driver's development. This discussion delineates the merits and enhancements of the driver design, demonstrating its superiority over conventional predecessors. Empirical results will be examined and compared with the design simulations.
