600W/28V Phase Shifted Full Bridge DC-DC Converter Design

The application of soft switching techniques for increasing the power density and efficiency in DC-DC converters is prominent. Phase Shifted Full Bridge (PSFB) DC-DC converters are widely used in high frequency and high power applications due to their Zero Voltage Transition (ZVT) feature. In this study, a 600 W peak current mode controlled PSFB converter operating in the 250-400 V input voltage range is designed. A synchronous rectifier and a passive suppression cell are used in the converter. The elements used in the converter have been determined and a simulation study has been carried out in the PSIM programme. It is shown that zero-voltage switching occurs at full and half load conditions. At 350 V nominal input voltage, 100 kHz switching frequency and full load conditions, the efficiency was found to be 95.5% as a result of the simulation study.
