An Experiential Study of CDE(Cable Discharge Event) Phenomenon

A cable discharge event (CDE) is a phenomenon that occurs when a cable and an electronic device are connected, the electric charge in the cable moves to the electronic device with a low resistance path for a short period of time due to the potential difference, causing a malfunction in the electronic device. CDE are occurred when electronic devices and cables are connected. Therefore, every electronic device experiences at least one time of CDE when combined to a system. In this paper, we show the CDE experience that has been damaged to electronic devices caused by CDE. And we also show a method to reduce the possibility of damage to electronic devices due to CDE.
