Reception Conditions of Communication Satellite in Poland

An extensive set of measurements, for the purpose of mapping of the satellite EM-field coverage over the Poland was done. The power level and SNR of signals (beacon and communication - TVSat) received from a few satellites (EUTELSAT, ASTRA, INTELSAT) were monitored and collected on two measuring setups, fixed - situated in Wroclaw, and mobile one used all over the Poland territory. Measuring setups are fully automatic, it means the setup control, data acquisition and storing are controlled by PC computer. Trace of a trip and a geographical position of the measuring point was determined by GPS navigational terminal. The measured power levels are compared with EIRP footprints published by satellite system administrations. Obtained results of SNR ratio permit to qualify the satellite television signals reception, especially that which are well popular in the Poland.
