Voltage Improvement of a Grid-connected PV Inverter using Fuzzy control based Seven-level Inverter Compared with a Five-level Inverter by Varying the Reactive Power

This research study aims to increase power conversion efficiency with step-up converters, this work proposes a maximum power point tracker (MPPT) based on perturb and observe (P&O) technique. The power gained from the boost converter is injected into the grid through a five-level and seven-level multilevel inverter (MLI). Both inverter actions are controlled by a novel fuzzy logic controller (FLC) and the operation is reviewed with the help of Simulink output. Two distinct ways are used to generate a higher voltage from the PV array, with each system having seven sample values and a G power of 0.80 being used to evaluate the performance. The reactive power is varied from 100 to 700 to obtain the seven samples. Based on SPSS analysis, the parameters taken into consideration for the CI, alpha, and significance value are found to be 0.175 (p>0.05). The power factor and voltage gain are increased by adjusting the useless power. By observing the output obtained from the Simulink study, the 7 level MLI has a higher power factor of 0.93 compared to 5 level MLI with 0.89. Additionally, the raise in levels of output voltage suggests a simpler capacitor structure to perform filtering action. The generated voltage is higher than the conventional method. The generated voltage is sufficient to satisfy the end-user due to increased voltage power factor.
