Wideband Millimeter-wave AoD Design on the TFE of an OLED Display for 5G and B5G Handsets

This paper presents a leading and practical wideband millimeter-wave (mmw) antenna-on-display (AoD) design on the thin-film encapsulation (TFE) of an organic light-emitting diode (OLED) display for handsets of the 5^th generation mobile communications (5G) and beyond 5G (B5G) to support all licensed mmw bands (i.e., n258, n257, n261, n260, n259, and n262) in the 3^rd generation partnership project (3GPP) for better wireless communication capabilities and promising for integrated sensing and communications (ISAC). Also, owing to the on-TFE design, multiple merits of thinner display modules, lower manufacturing complexity and costs, higher compatibility of touch sensors, and better visual performance can be achieved.
