A Multi-Band Microstrip Patch Antenna for Application in Wireless Communication Systems

Multi-band microstrip patch antennas offer versatility for a wide range of applications. This work presents the design of such an antenna utilizing a slotted rectangular patch on a Rogers RT Duroid 5880 substrate with an inset feed and partially covered ground plane rather than using a fully covered ground. The substrate, Rogers RT Duroid 5880 has a permittivity of 2.2 and a loss tangent of 0.0009. CST STUDIO SUITE has been employed for simulations. The proposed multi-band antenna considerably surpasses its counterpart in terms of performance through multiple frequency bands.
