Securing Industrial Networks: An Ensemble Learning Approach to Trojan Prevention in Digital Information Transfer

The industry relies heavily on the highly efficient operational processes required to guarantee the safe extraction, refinement, and distribution of such vital natural resources. The significance of ensuring the security of smart devices in the industries is evident, as there have been numerous cyber threats lately, such as Trojan attacks, that put industrial data at risk. The preservation of data is crucial for making informed decisions and improving the operational efficiency within this business. Machine learning offers a proactive and flexible approach to tackling the complex detection requirements due to the variability in the Trojan attack data and the increasing number of threats. This paper explores an experimental study of the possibilities of the Ensemble Learning approach to enhance security in the oil and gas sector for the specific case of Android-based devices. The research focuses on reaching high ROC-AUC scores known to be useful in evaluating how effectively a model can distinguish between legitimate and harmful behavior on the network. The studied work has great potential for influencing the improvement of the security of the industries by using machine learning-trained servers for communication to differentiate authorized from non-authorized users. Ensemble Learning is crucial for ensuring that the industry’s smart devices are protected from Trojan attacks and the data is secured.
