Development of Fractional Loop Antenna for EMC Measurement

A fractional loop (one sixth of a complete loop) in front of 60° comer reflector is proposed in this paper to simulate a highly directive standard EM wave. Field equation of the proposed antenna is developed. Various parameters such as loop radius, wire diameter and reflector size which are to be considered in developing the proposed antenna are well described in this paper. The proposed fractional loop antenna is constructed and the radiation pattern of the antenna is measured to compare the theoretical radiation pattern. Comparison shows a very good agreement with the theoretical pattern.
