Earth Exploration Satellite (EES) Service and Meteorological Satellite (METSAT) Service

EES and METSAT radiocommunication services include a number of systems for scientific and/ or application purposes. Such systems perform a variety of functions, some of them using transmission links between earth stations and satellites, and others using sensing links for both passive and active microwave remote sensing. Interference criteria must be determined in order to allow sharing of frequencies with other spectrum users. Major progress is currently being made in refining interference criteria so as to facilitate sharing, while permitting EES system designers to retain effective control over EES system performance.
