Ropes of a Winding Machine as a Line for Shaft Communication System

The transport of personnel and material in shafts as well as inspection of shafts requires a reliable, easy to use shaft communication system, that transfers a signal between the winding house and cages in shafts. Many shaft communication systems use the hoisting ropes as a transmission line. These systems operate in the long wave frequency band. The paper presents an analysis of currents in ropes caused by transmitters in winding house station and cage station.. For shafts with two winding machines the paper presents an analysis of crosstalk between two shaft communication systems in the shaft. High power thyristor converters (for example rectifiers) are used for electric drive of winding machines. These converters are a source of electromagnetic interference for shaft communication systems. The paper presents results of measurements of the interference current in winding machine ropes.
