An Overview of CISPR Work on EMC

International cooperation on matters of radio interference began in 1933 when an informal conference was held in Paris between representatives of several organisations. The conference agreed that the main objective was to achieve uniformity in the methods of controlling interference in order to facilitate exchange of appliances between countries. The main recommendation of the conference was that a joint commission should be set up by the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) and the International Union of Broadcasting (UIR). The recommendation was implemented and the International Special Committee on Radio Interference was formed.
