Measures to Ensure the Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) in Automotive Electronics

The increasing application of electronic devices in motor vehicles necessitates particular measures to guarantee the electromagnetic compatibility. They can be carried out at the interference source, transmission path or interference drain: - Interference Source: Limitation of the interference generation (reduction of the interference emission) - Transmission path: Limitation of the interference transmissions - Interference drain: Limitation of the interference effects (increase of the interference immunity) The following measures are possible for these three objects: assembly, separation, filtering, earthing, screening and arrangements over operation runs. Transposition and mode of transmission can be additionally used for the transmission path.
