Electromagnetic Compatibility of Stabilized Sights and Laser Range Finder in a Combat Vehicle

This paper presents a comprehensive EMI/ EMC study of the stabilized sights for Commander & Gunner and Laser Range Finder (LRF) in a Combat vehicle. The EMI emission levels and EMI susceptibility thresholds of the LRF and stabilized sights are measured. The EMI/EMC evaluation results of the typical stabilized sights and LRF are critically analyzed. Finally, the EMI control methods, to achieve the electromagnetic compatibility of these sensitive subsystems in a small confine of a combat vehicle are also discussed for incorporation during the design stage.
