Enhancing Electrical Engineering Education Through Project-Based Learning

This paper explores the implementation and impact of Project-Based Learning (PBL) in electrical engineering education, focusing on its theoretical foundations and the outcomes on student learning. PBL is an instructional methodology that emphasizes hands-on projects and real-world problem-solving, fostering a deeper understanding of theoretical concepts and the development of critical soft skills such as teamwork, communication, and problem-solving. The study examines the historical development of PBL and its application in engineering education, supported by empirical evidence demonstrating its effectiveness. The findings highlight that PBL significantly enhances academic performance, knowledge retention, and student motivation while preparing graduates for the complexities of professional engineering practice. Despite the challenges in implementation, such as resource constraints and the need for faculty training, the paper suggests strategies for overcoming these obstacles.
