Experimental Study on MQTT Protocol Based Home Automation System with Enhancement

This paper presents the design and implementation of a home automation system that employs the MQTT (Message Queuing Telemetry Transport) protocol, with AWS serving as the MQTT broker. The system is built using a NodeMCU microcontroller, interfacing with two analog sensors, one digital sensor, and three different actuators. An analog multiplexer (MUX) is employed to manage multiple analog inputs, while WiFi connectivity ensures seamless communication with the cloud. The user interface (UI) allows real-time monitoring and control of home parameters, including room temperature, lighting conditions, and door access events logged via RFID. This implementation demonstrates an efficient and scalable approach to home automation, leveraging cloud-based MQTT for reliable message delivery and enhanced user interaction.
