The Development and Impact of an Intelligent Scheduling System for Educational Institutions

In this paper, we present the idea of a semi – automated timetable scheduling system which is particularly aimed at tackling the challenges faced by the educational institutions. The system uses a genetic algorithm to create efficient timetables. The genetic algorithm is inspired by the process of natural selection. The algorithm generates a population of potential timetables, which are evaluated by the predefined fitness functions, the one having the highest fitness is selected. This approach helps for exploration of a large solution space to find out the best-suited timetable. By combing the power of genetic algorithm and our in-depth knowledge of the challenges faced by the educational institutions, our timetable scheduling system will offer numerous benefits such as a reduction in the time and work required to create timetables along with producing highly efficient timetables. The system would be a valuable tool for educational institutions that strive to streamline their scheduling process and improve the overall experience of students and teachers. The system can be adapted to the requirements of different educational institutions, keeping the genetic algorithm as its backbone.
