Design the MCU firmware remote upgrade system for ADS-B receiver

With the evolution of technology, the wide application of the ADS-B (Automatic Dependent Surveillance-Broadcast) system. It gradually replaces the status of primary and secondary radar. The ADS-B receiver plays a huge role in the whole system. The MCU is applied to collect the monitoring data of the ADS-B receiver which contains current, voltage, temperature and error code and so on. The ADS-B system is composed of multiple ADS-B receivers to complete the two-way data communication in the form of network and multipoint to multi-point. It may several hundreds or tens kilometers between each ADS-B station. Therefore, it is hard to upgrade MCU firmware of the ADS-B receiver in traditional method. This paper designs the remote upgrade system for MCU firmware of ADS-B receiver which is applied in the ADS-B data processing center. It achieves to update firmware for ADS-B receivers in different places which are more convenient and comfortable. The remote upgrade system is composed of MCU, ARM and embedded Web. The consumer uploads the firmware to the ARM via the embedded web page, and then the ARM proceeds to upgrade the MCU firmware through the serial port.
