Multi-Source Data Fusion Technology and Its Application Based on In-Cabin Bluetooth Mesh Networking

Mobile GPS data is often considered a noisy data source, limiting its positive impact on aviation operations and location monitoring. This study proposes a Bluetooth mesh networking-based approach for integrating multiple data sources to provide real-time flight information for passengers with limited communication capabilities. By combining GPS data acquired through Bluetooth mesh networking with aircraft ADS-B data, this method addresses challenges in operation monitoring caused by insufficient ADS-B data. It features low cost, high speed, adaptability, robustness, and user-friendliness. Testing and validation were conducted using millions of flight records, with effective validation from half-year historical data and real-time flight data from 235 civil airports nationwide. The results demonstrate the solution’s effectiveness in resolving the issue of missing GPS data for certain seats during flights. Moreover, it enhances passengers’ ability to access real-time flight information, thereby improving travel satisfaction and flight experience. Additionally, the fusion of multiple data sources enables the acquisition of more comprehensive and accurate flight trajectories, providing a reliable data foundation for flight monitoring and prediction.
