Design and Performance Analysis of a Frequency Modulation (FM) Transmitter: Integrating Voltage-Controlled Oscillator and Class AB Power Amplifier

This paper designs a frequency modulation (FM) transmitter for wireless communication systems, focusing on the design and implementation of the carrier oscillator circuit, high-frequency power amplifier, and audio amplifier. After comparing various options, a voltage-controlled oscillator (VCO) was ultimately selected for the carrier oscillator. The high-frequency power amplifier section employs a Class AB power amplifier to strike a balance between efficiency and linearity, and Multisim was used for simulation testing, ultimately achieving the expected values. The audio amplifier is responsible for the preliminary amplification of the input audio signal to ensure that the signal has a sufficient amplitude for subsequent processing. This paper elaborates on the design process of each part of the circuit, key technical parameters, and their specific roles in the system, ultimately realizing an efficient, stable, and reliable FM transmitter, providing an effective solution for wireless communication systems.
