Enhancing Power Quality in Distribution System with DVR, D-SATCOM and UPQC Approaches

The power generated by electricity industry is presently concentrating on the mitigation of power quality (PQ) difficulties. Numerous PQ issues are brought about by automation in industry and the integration of distributed generation using power electronic converters. This calls for PQ enhancement, This contributes to the equipment's extended lifespan and increase dependability of supplies for feeding vital loads into the system. Electric power transmission efficiency from the source to industrial, home, and commercial consumers is measured by power quality. Voltage quality is a factor in at least 50% of issues with power quality. An improved power quality is presented in this paper. using Unified Power Quality Conditioner (UPQC), distribution static compensator (DSTATCOM), Dynamic Voltage Restorers (DVR). The UPQC is a member of the active power filter family. It helps with power factor adjustment, integrating energy from renewable sources systems into the distribution network, and resolving source PQ problems relating to voltage and current. By integrating DVRs with D-STATCOM, UPQC is a significant multifunctional FACTS device that helps reduce the results of unbalanced loads, harmonic currents, and voltage sags and swellings. Using MATLAB/SIMULINK software, a simulation investigation of the suggested topology was conducted. The findings are reported.
