Monitoring the Examination of Digitised Pathology Samples in a 3D VR Environment

Today, the use of virtual reality hardware and virtual environments created by technology is becoming more and more common in everyday life. In our research, we designed and developed a system that can save user's 3D data while examining digitized medical samples in a VR environment. In this way, we create a digital backup of the examination, i.e. the entire examination can be reproduced and replayed in a 3D environment. With the solution presented in this paper, we will in the future be able to record all parameters (including human physiological parameters) directly related to the evaluation of medical samples. By analyzing these data, it will be feasible to perform 3D reconstruction of complete diagnostic processes and to evaluate these diagnostic processes. This solution could open new possibilities in the field of digital medical education and quality assurance in the evaluation of digitalized medical samples.
