Forecasting of Solar Irradiance Using ARIMA

Solar irradiance data is a crucial issue for solar thermal and photovoltaic systems. In this instance, a basic step in solar energy applications is the estimation of solar irradiance. The integration of solar irradiance at a high penetration rate into the electrical grid may pose a danger to grid stability due to weather changes. As a result, forecasting the solar irradiance parameter is necessary to guarantee the grid's security and quality. In this study, autoregressive integrated moving average (ARIMA) model is used to forecast the solar irradiance time series. In addition, the temperature, the relative humidity, and the wind speed are also predicted using the same model.
