Sustainable EV System for Next-Generation Reginal Society

This paper presents a comprehensive analysis of the Nagasaki EV & ITS Project, which aims to enhance sustainable transportation in the Nagasaki region through the integration of electric vehicles (EVs) and intelligent transportation systems (ITS). The project is a collaborative effort involving various stakeholders, including the Nagasaki Prefecture, local companies, universities, research institutions, and non-profit organizations, organized under the Nagasaki EV & ITS Consortium. Key initiatives such as community car-sharing programs in Ishinomaki City, Miyagi Prefecture, and the implementation of next-generation energy solutions in Izumi Park Town are explored, highlighting their impact on regional development and recovery efforts following the Great East Japan Earthquake. This paper also acknowledges the significant contributions of various entities, including the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science, and Technology, and Mitsubishi Estate, as well as the Tohoku Next-Generation Mobility Technology Demonstration Consortium. The findings demonstrate the importance of collaborative approaches in achieving sustainable mobility solutions, paving the way for future advancements in eco-friendly transportation initiatives.
