Variable Gain Phase Shifter Design for Millimeter Wave Bands

The front end of the transceiver of the traditional RF phase-shifting architecture contains independent phase shifters and attenuators, so the transceiver channel of the RF phase-shifting architecture phased array system has the disadvantages of large area and high loss. In this paper, with the goal of solving the problem of large transceiver channel area and high power consumption of the traditional RF phase-shifting phased array system, the research contents of passive device modeling technology, orthogonal amplitude phase control technology and linear phase control technology are completed through the joint design of the phase shifter and the variable gain amplifier, and the variable gain phase shifter with orthogonal amplitude phase control capability is realized, and the linear phase control is realized based on the symmetry of gain and phase in the vector sum phase shifter, which greatly improves the accuracy of phase control.
