Solar Photovoltaic Lighting for Community Service Improvement and Sustainable Renovation Design and Application Case in Chengdu, China

China is currently at the peak of urban construction, and the rapid development of urban infrastructure has led to the swift growth of street lighting. The resulting energy consumption has become an indispensable factor affecting people's daily lives. Urban road lighting is a crucial part of road planning and design, especially in this era of intense urbanization. In the context of energy constraints, lighting consumes a substantial proportion of energy, and the total amount of energy used for lighting each year is significant. This study takes Caojia Lane Workers' Village in Jinniu District, Chengdu City, Sichuan Province, as an example and proposes a landscape lighting pattern of “three rings and one axis”, considering the current situation of Caojia Lane Workers' Village. PVsyst and other software were used to obtain relevant meteorological data, select two extreme days for analysis, simulate and analyze the installation angle and area of the solar photovoltaic system, and calculate the thermal economy of solar PV lighting to explore the feasibility of applying solar PV systems in street lighting in this community. Preliminary results indicate that the application of this solar PV system to street lighting in Caojia Lane Workers' Village has significant economic benefits.
