EMC Challenges in Emerging Wireless Technologies

Users have new and demanding communication needs and as a result new frequencies are being proposed and standards for new wireless technologies are emerging. Complying with the functional standards is not enough and radio regulatory and EMC requirements must also be met. To meet the regulatory requirements test standards and test methods need to be developed. Today these test requirements are lagging those of the system specifications and engineers face new challenges. An approach to meet the new interference requirements that allow sharing the spectrum between unlicensed devices and radar systems (DFS) is presented.
