Design and Optimization of AMC-Based Antenna for UHF RFID Metal-Resistant Tags

In this paper, a UHF RFID metal-resistant tag antenna is designed by using the loaded AMC substrate method to achieve the metal-resistant performance, and the bent dipole antenna as the radiator. The antenna structure parameters are optimized using the Improved Beetle Swarm Optimization (IBSO) Algorithm, with an overall size of $82.9\times 45.1\times 3.8\text{mm}^{3}$, which meets at 860~960 MHz, and the maximum reading distance averages up to 14 m under the UHF RFID standard in China. The structure has low fabricate cost, no complex structure such as over-hole, and can be completely processed by PCB process.
