Design of Dyno Stepper Tester Tool Using Rope Brake Dynamometer Method

Liquid handling system is used in pharmaceutical automation technology in the health sector. This system requires a stepper motor as its main actuator. However, the stepper motor has a problem of not being able to lift the load when the load exceeds the pull-out torque, which causes the stepper motor to experience a losing step. Therefore, it is necessary to measure the pull-out torque to avoid accidents. There are several methods used in measuring pull-out torque, one of which is the rope brake dynamometer method. In this study, we designed a dyno stepper tester testing tool using the rope brake dynamometer method on 3 stepper motors (A, B, and C) series 17H2061-120. This study shows that the measurement of pull-out torque using the dyno stepper tester tool with an average accuracy result for stepper motor A of 94.56%, stepper motor B 96.36%, and stepper motor C 95.11%. From the results of the pull-out torque measurements produced by the dyno stepper tester, this tool is suitable for use in testing stepper motors before being implemented in a project.
