Increasing Student Motivation in Engineering Bachelor and Master Programes through Problem-Based Learning for Sustainable Development Goals

The article discusses the sociological research conducted at universities in Kazakhstan and Bulgaria. The study aims to analyze the awareness of students and teachers regarding the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to develop science-based recommendations for integrating sustainable development modules into university curriculum. The research focused on assessing awareness, perception, and understanding of the SDGs, as well as evaluating the integration of sustainable development modules by teachers. For data processed were used IBM SPSS Statistics 27. The authors developed recommendations for universities to include integrating SDGs into curriculum, promoting interdisciplinary research, supporting sustainable technologies, fostering inclusive education, and forming international partnerships. By implementing these strategies, universities can enhance their role in national and global sustainable development, while also strengthening their international reputation.
