Analyzing Key Factors Influencing Digital Literacy Among Students in the Lao PDR: Implications for Educational Policy and Practice

This research aims to analyze the factors influencing the digital literacy of students in the Lao People's Democratic Republic and propose guidelines for promoting these skills. The study focuses on improving students' digital skills to meet the demands of the digital-era labor market, enhancing their employment opportunities. This quantitative research collected data from a sample of 400 students across colleges, universities, and educational institutions in Laos, using questionnaires and in-depth interviews with 30 individuals. The sample size was determined using W.G. Cochran's formula with a margin of error of ±5% at a 95% confidence level. Statistical analyses, including Mean, Standard Deviation, and Stepwise Multiple Linear Regression, were used to explore the relationships between variables. The analysis identified six factors significantly influencing students' digital skills: family support (FS), social influence (SI), students' computer experience (CES), teachers' digital competence (TDC), perceived ease of use (PEU), and perceived usefulness (PU), with a multiple correlation coefficient of .860 and a prediction accuracy of 73.6%, statistically significant at the .000 level with a standard error of prediction of ±.323.
