PAPR Reduction of OCDM on Underwater Acoustic Communication

Orthogonal chirp division multiplexing (OCDM), consisting of a set of orthogonal chirp waveforms, has advantages of the resistance to Doppler shifts and high bandwidth efficiency and is therefore considered a promising multicarrier modulation method for underwater acoustic communication (UAC). However, the peak-to-average power ratio (PAPR) of OCDM single is high, which degrades the efficiency of the transmitting node. The two methods of PAPR reduction of OCDM on underwater acoustic channels are presented in a SISO system. The comparison of simulation shows that the proposed two methods can reduce the PAPR of the OCDM signal.
