Research on Broadband Spherical Communication Transducer

This study optimized the design of the spherical transducer based on the finite element method, and studies the impedance matching method based on the all-electric equivalent circuit model of the transducer. By employing a dual-peak resonance method, an impedance matching network was constructed to enhance its broadband characteristics. Subsequently, the transducer spherical was designed and fabricated, and its electro-acoustic properties was measured in an anechoic watertank. Without matching network spherical transducer, the resonance frequency in water is 19 kHz, with a maximum transmit voltage response (TVR) of 149.2 dB and the - 3 dB bandwidth is 9.2 kHz. When the impedance matching network is designed based on measured admittance, the prototype transducer achieves a maximum TVR of 152.9 dB and the -3 dB bandwidth is 15.6 kHz, effectively improving the broadband transmit performance of the spherical transducer.
