A Unified One-Bit Source Detection Method Leveraging Second-Order Statistics

This paper introduces a unified detection method utilizing second-order statistics to address the inherent challenges posed by one-bit quantization. We propose a rigorous framework for one-bit detection using second-order statistics and validate our approach with an eigenvalue-moment-ratio detection scheme. Our findings indicate that the proposed method preserves the correlation structure of infinite-bit observations, effectively casting the detection problem into a test for signal sphericity. This research offers a robust solution for one-bit source detection, providing a foundation for future advancements in low-resolution signal processing.
