Application of Improved Interpolation-Iterative Curve Flattering Method in Steep Terrain Areas: A Case Study of Yangshan Gold Belt

In recent times, there has been a surge in the demand for high-precision magnetic survey project, with an increasing emphasis on data accuracy. However, during Ground surveys, the presence of significant terrain fluctuations poses a challenge to obtain precise measurement data. Existing Curve Flattering methods have proven inadequate in effectively addressing this issue. In this paper, to overcome this limitation, the advantages of mapping functions are capitalized on and integrated them into the interpolation-iteration method of Curve Flattering. Moreover, the concept of mapping functions is extended to encompass other parameters, resulting in an enhanced approach that significantly improves the accuracy and efficiency of Curve Flattering in gravity and magnetic data processing. Yangshan Gold Belt, situated in the middle and eastern sections of the arcuate overthrust structure in Wen County, is characterized by substantial terrain fluctuations. Conventional Curve Flattering methods are failed to adequately tackle the challenge posed by large calculation errors arising from high elevation differences. By implementing the proposed improved interpolation-iteration Curve Flattering method outlined in this paper, it becomes possible to effectively mitigate the impact of terrain fluctuations, thereby enhancing calculation accuracy. Consequently, this method proves instrumental in facilitating data interpretation work. Overall, the integration of mapping functions into the interpolation-iteration Curve Flattering method presents a novel and efficient solution, enabling precise and reliable data processing in the field of gravity and magnetic measurements.
