Amplitude Excitation Analysis of Uniform and Non-uniform Structured Microstrip Patch Antenna for High Frequency ISM Band at 24 GHz for Surveillance Applications

In this Paper, microstrip line feed used to linearly placed four elements in series with uniform structures, array fed with binomial coefficients and array elements with Dolph-chebyshev method built on the Roger substrate (RO3003) with the loss tangent of 0.001 at 24 GHz. The dielectric constant of the substrate is 3. A uniform series fed array with identical radiating components are compared to four element linearly arranged using tapered patch width technique for the binomial and Dolph-Chebyshev distribution. The proposed array structures resonates at 24 GHz, the uniform series fed array offers a gain of 9.92 dB and an SLL of -2.8dB. The computer simulation software (CST) is used to build these series fed microstrip antenna arrays. Dolph-Chebyshev technique used for the amplitude distribution reduce side lobe level (SLL) to -15.1 dB with high bandwidth of 979MHz is achieved. These antenna arrays are used that resonates at 24 GHz are used for conformal surveillance and automotive radar applications.
