Investigation of Nonuniform Transmission Line Structures by a Generalized Transmission-Line Theory.

This paper presents a generalized transmission-line theory with generalized parameters. The theory is applicable to a much wider range of conducting structures than the classical transmission-line theory. Higher order mode effects such as radiation are included automatically in the p.u.l. parameters. The theory is applied to simple nonuniform transmission-line structures. The parameters for these structures are computed and the corresponding telegrapher equations are solved. The obtained results are in good agreement with the classical transmission line theory (where applicable) as well as with full wave MoM solutions.
