An FPGA+ARM-Based Method for Detecting Voltage Dips and Maintaining Voltage Outputs

This paper proposes a method for detecting voltage dips and maintaining the output voltage applicable to the grid voltage, which uses the detection of the over-zero voltage, detects whether the voltage is qualified or not based on the utility frequency as the detection cycle, and uses the SPWM signal output from the FPGA to manipulate the voltage supplied by the inverter bridge to maintain the output voltage to achieve the purpose. The authors have built an experimental validation platform for the voltage dip algorithm to verify the correctness of the proposed algorithm. The experimental results show that the proposed method can detect the voltage drop within one cycle and manipulate the inverter bridge to maintain the output voltage of 220 VAC to ensure uninterrupted power supply to the load.
